Deraum by Freja and Frank
Freja, originally from Stockholm, works as a freelance journalist in Basel. She writes about design, art and politics – and she loves and collects modern lithography. Her partner Frank was born in Denmark and brought his passion for Scandinavian Furniture into their home. After several years as a consultant he decided to become cabinetmaker.
The couple met fours ago and is now looking forward to become parents soon, due to their new circumstances they decided to move back to Stockholm, to refurbish the house of Freja’s parents.
They leave their stage of life behind in Basel, where they have met – including their small interior setting. This is reflecting Freja’s and Frank’s love to a conscious life along with Scandinavian tradition and Mid-Century furnitures. Light colors and warm wood tones are combined with soft patterns – an arrangement of abstract art is hanging on the walls, a few heirlooms are tickling your eyes.

Freja ist aus Stockholm und arbeitet in Basel als freie Journalistin, sie schreibt über Design, Kunst und Politik – und sammelt moderne Lithografien. Sie und ihr Partner Frank haben sich vor vier Jahren in Basel kennen gelernt, nun erwarten sie schon bald ihr erstes Kind. Frank kommt aus Dänemark und nahm seine Leidenschaft für skandinavische Möbelkunst in die gemeinsame Wohnung. Nach seiner langjährigen Beratungsstelle lässt er sich derzeit als Schreiner ausbilden. Anlässlich ihrer neuen Lebenssituation ziehen gemeinsam nach Stockholm – und hinterlassen uns ihren Basler Lebensabschnitt, samt ihrem Interior und ihrer persönlichen Sammlung. Darin spiegelt sich die Hingabe für einen bewussten Lebensstil mit Skandinavischer Mid-Century Tradition. Helle Farben und warme Holztöne sind mit sanften Mustern kombiniert. Abstrakte Kunst hängt an den Wänden – ein paar wenige Erbstücke der Familie ergänzen das Arrangement.
